Privacy Policy
Effective date: 15 July 2026 · BlockFair: Block Puzzle, by Zorzen Studios
The short version: BlockFair has no accounts and never asks for your name or email. The game works fully offline. We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand gameplay, Google AdMob to show ads in the free version (only ever at game-over, and rewarded ads only when you opt in), and RevenueCat to validate the one-time Premium purchase. The seed that proves your pieces are fair is generated on your device and never leaves it. Buy Premium and ads — and their data collection — go away entirely.
1. Who we are
This policy explains how Zorzen Studios ("we", "us") processes personal data when you use the BlockFair: Block Puzzle mobile application (the "App") and the website blockfair.net (the "Site"). We are the controller for this processing within the meaning of the EU General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"). You can reach us at support@blockfair.net.
2. What we do not collect
- No user accounts, usernames, or passwords.
- No names, email addresses, phone numbers, or contact lists.
- No precise location data.
- No data from your device's camera, microphone, photos, or files.
- The fairness seed shown after each game is generated and verified locally on your device and is never transmitted to us. Sharing it is entirely your choice.
3. What we process, and why
| Data | Purpose | Provider | Lawful basis (GDPR) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Device identifiers, device model, OS version, coarse region, gameplay events (e.g. game started, game over, score band) | Understand how the game is played and improve it | Google Analytics for Firebase / Google Analytics 4 | Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — improving our product with aggregated usage data |
| Advertising identifier, device information, ad interaction data | Show ads in the free version (interstitial at game-over; rewarded ads you opt into) | Google AdMob | Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) where required — collected via the consent dialog shown in the App in the EEA/UK; otherwise legitimate interests for non-personalised ads |
| Purchase receipt and an anonymous app-user identifier (no name or payment details) | Validate and restore the one-time "BLOCKFAIR Forever" purchase | RevenueCat (payment itself is processed by Apple or Google) | Contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) — delivering the purchase you made |
| Site usage data (pages viewed, coarse region, browser type) | Understand Site traffic | Google Analytics 4 (Site only) | Legitimate interests / consent where required |
We never see your payment card details: purchases are processed end-to-end by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) under their own privacy policies.
We never use data to manipulate difficulty or piece generation. Piece generation is seeded, documented, and verifiable — that is the point of the product.
4. Ads and your choices
- Ads appear only in the free version, only at game-over (never mid-game), and rewarded ads only when you explicitly opt in.
- In the EEA/UK, the App asks for your consent before personalised ads are shown, via Google's consent dialog. You can change your choice at any time in the App's settings.
- You can reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy → Tracking / Apple Advertising; Android: Settings → Google → Ads).
- Purchasing "BLOCKFAIR Forever" removes ads permanently, and with them AdMob's data collection in the App.
5. Sharing and processors
We do not sell personal data. We share data only with the processors and independent controllers named in section 3 (Google, Apple, RevenueCat), strictly to provide the services described. Google and RevenueCat may process data on servers outside the EEA; where they do, transfers are safeguarded by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision, per those providers' data-processing terms.
6. Retention
Analytics data is retained per our Google Analytics configuration and then deleted or aggregated. Purchase records are retained for as long as needed to honor your lifetime purchase and to meet bookkeeping obligations. Data stored on your device (settings, scores, the fairness seed history) stays on your device and is deleted when you uninstall the App.
7. Your rights (GDPR)
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, and receive a copy of your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior processing). Because we hold no account linking data to you as a person, exercising these rights may require identifiers from your device (such as the app-instance id shown in the App's settings). Contact support@blockfair.net; you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority — in the Netherlands, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
8. California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
In the last 12 months we have collected the categories of data listed in section 3 (identifiers, usage data, commercial information limited to purchase receipts). We do not sell personal information. The use of advertising identifiers for personalised ads may constitute "sharing" under the CPRA; you can opt out via the App's ad-consent settings or your device's ad settings as described in section 4. California residents may exercise rights to know, delete, and correct via support@blockfair.net, directly or through an authorized agent. We do not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
9. Children
The App and Site are not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes
We will post any changes to this policy on this page and update the effective date. Material changes will be highlighted in the App.
